Happy Father's Day!

Dear Daddy,

I want to wish you a very happy and special second Father's day. Although I am still to young to say it, I want you to know that I love you very, very much! I love to spend time with you, we have a lot of fun together when mommy is at work. I am so lucky to have such a great daddy! Thanks for taking such great care of me.

Love, Ethan

Ethan's Vacation

Well, last week, Ethan had a vacation to Lilia's apartment, while mom and dad took a vacation to the Caribbean. We sure did miss Ethan, but had the opportunity to get away, and a great person to take care of Ethan while we went, so we did.

It was fun to do 'adult' things again, including having quiet, leisurely dinners, sleeping in, snorkelling together, and not coming back to the room for naptime.

We took a cruise in the southern Caribbean--and visited St. John, Dominica, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Anguilla. We enjoyed all of the islands, but St. John and St. Lucia were our favorites. Here are some highlights:

A snorkelling spot in St. John--we saw turtles, schools of fish, a stingray, and a nurse shark!

Swimming at Trunk Bay, St. John

Trafalgar Falls, Dominica

Jason and the Ship

Our lunch spot on Nevis--an old sugar plantation with fabulous views

Swimming in Anguilla on my birthday.

Ethan did well without us, but was happy to see us when we came home!
On our next trip (coming up over the 4th of July, to Maine) we're taking him!

Fun in the Sun (and Water)

This past weekend Daddy and Ethan saw their first bout of real warm weather (Mommy was busy at work all weekend). The city of Cambridge also cooperated by opening up their water parks. One of them is just a few blocks away...

Ethan sure loved the water -- and had a pretty good time with his friend Talia.

Talia is the little girl -- not the big girl in blue.

Lots of water and sunblock on my face!

Can't wait for the next warm day...

My Molars Are Coming

Recently, Ethan has been having a LOT of drooling. And he has been a bit more fussy. Turns out that's because he has molars coming in. We hope they finish arriving quickly!

Grandma and Grandpa Greenberg's Last Visit to Boston

Grandma and Grandpa Greenberg flew out to visit us over Mother's Day weekend. They had not seen Ethan in over 5 months--they were sure amazed at how much he had changed!

We had a nice visit, and we did a lot of eating!! You see grandma and grandpa LOVE seafood, and if there is one thing we have a lot of in Boston, its seafood.

On Saturday, they enjoyed oysters for lunch at the Union Oyster House. That night, we had lobster for dinner, from a local place called "Louie's Lobsters--Alive and Kicking". It is conveniently located just a few blocks from our place--and although you can take them home 'alive and kicking' we had ours pre-cooked. Of course, I still go by the mantra "if its from the sea, its not for me" so I ate pasta. But apparently the lobster was quite good.

For Mother's Day, we headed out to brunch at a cute restaurant called North Street Grille. We had a great meal. And the restaurant couldn't even make a complaint about the fact that Ethan was messy, since it was Mother's Day! Afterward we took a stroll around the North End.

On Monday, I had the day off (having worked on Saturday), and we went to the Boston Children's museum. It was great--with a little kids area that was perfect for Ethan--his favorite part was a large wooden car that he could climb in and "drive".

Thanks for coming to visit!

Kristin Comes for a Visit

This post is a bit over due....two weekends ago, my friend Kristin came up from Jacksonville, FL to visit. The same weekend, Jason was in New Orleans for a conference, so it was great to have some adult company!

Ethan enjoyed meeting Kristin, and although she was stuck doing kiddie activities, we had a pretty good time.

Some highlights were a visit to Boston's Franklin Park Zoo, and a walk downtown. The Boston Garden was in full bloom, and beautiful.

We only have 3 months left here, so book your visits now!!!

LAST DAY OF SWIMMING!

Ethan had his final swimming lesson this past Sunday. He now has officially completed the "Parent Tot A" class at Boston University.

He learned to submerge his head and jump off the side.

He learned to float (with assistance) on his tummy, on his back...

He also made some nice friends! At the end of the lesson he received a certificate - his first one.
