Cherry Time and Piano

 Last weekends, the cherries were ripe, so we headed our for our annual picking.   This year, we picked Seko Ranch, because they just opened their orchards, and they had several varieties we love including Bings, Brooks and Rainier.

It did not disappoint.  The cherries we so juicy and sweet--even better than we remember from last year.  We ended up with 13 pounds (plus probably many more pounds consumed while picking!)

We also visited a nearby farm that had nectarines, and picked several pounds of those too.   (They were also amazing!)

In the afternoon, we had our fist in-person piano recital since the pandemic began, and the first now with our current teacher Marie.   The kids were both very nervous but did great.

Alaina played Allegro and Dolphin Ballet.

Ethan played Green Dragonflies and Fuer Elise.   He has been working on Fuer Elise (the original) since this fall, and it was really wonderful to seee how all of his hard work paid off.  He is really getting good!

As a special treat, the kids also did a duet.   They played so nicely together!

Mini-golfing in the City

 A few blocks away from my hospital, there is a 18-hole mini golf course.  Though I have walked by it hundreds of times, last weekend I had the opportunity to play.

We have been meaning to get together with our friends Sue and Ben, and last weekend we finally made it happen.   I can't believe it has been almost a year since we saw them last!   

We first met at a playground.   Wow, our kids are sure getting big!  

We then headed to stagecoach greens, where the kids played together and the adults played together.   The course was actually really cute, incorporating a lot of California and San Francisco History.  

After, we walked done the street to Spark social which is a food truck area, to eat.   It was great to catch up!   At the end, we promised each other that our next get together would happen in less than one year!!

Mother's Day

 Today is Mother's Day, and I enjoyed celebrating.   We a late brunch at our house.   Unfortunately, the weather was not too cooperative and it was windy and cold.   So we ate inside.   I has been a cold spring!

Anyhow, it was a nice way to celebrate.  We had mimosas, bagels, scones, eggs, bacon and fruit salad!  Yum!   No one left hungry!!   Th kids got me a very cool wind chime and Jason gave me a bracelet that he picked up while traveling in Santa Fe.  I am lucky to be a mom!

Ethan the Baker

 This weekend we went to dinner at a friend's house.   They asked us to bring a dessert and I asked 

Ethan to make something.   He decided that he wanted to make a cake from scratch!

He used his America's Test Kitchen Baking book for young chefs, and made a beautiful white cake, with very minimal adult participation.   

I have to say, it not only looked great, it also tasted delicious!   Our friend's loved it too!  Yum!
