The slow-cooker revolution

Every night, we get home from a long, stressful day at work , and after picking up Ethan from day care and we (I) have to figure out what is for dinner. Ugh.

Considering we usually have about 1 hour before Ethan needs to be in bed, we usually are scrambling, and we are often stuck with trader joe's microwaveable meals.

Well, last weekend, we were hanging out with our friends Sue and Ben, who have a similar situation, and they gave us a revolutionary idea--a slow cooker. The idea: turn it on when we leave, and have dinner hot and ready when we come home! Sounds great. So we picked one up this weekend.

Now, I have actually never used one before...but we found some recipes online, and even a blog about slow cooking (http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/) so we're going to try it out. And if you have a recipe to share, we'd love to hear about it. Here to more homemade dinners!

2nd Birthday Party

Last weekend, we had Jason's parents, aunt and uncle, brohter and sister in-law, and grandparents over to celebrate Ethan's second birthday.

We decided to have a big brunch, with french toast, bagels, lox, bacon, and fruit. Ethan loved it!

February 5 was also great-grandpa's birthday, so we celebrated him too---he turned 86 this year!

Ethan had his second birthday cake--this time chocolate, made by Grandma Greenberg--and he loved it! He is still asking for it a week later--I think he inherited his mom's sweet tooth!!
