Gramma & Grampa's

Due to Jason's vacation scheduling, Ethan and he have just had a second vacation for the month of April!

They headed to Chicago to see my family on April 9. I was able to join them on the following Saturday, and stayed with Ethan until Tuesday.

We had a nice time in Chicago. Jason and Ethan got to visit great-grandma and all the other Milwaukee family.

The weather did not cooperate too well--mostly very cold and windy--and on Monday morning we even had snow!!!

We braved the wind to spend some time at the park though.

Ethan also learned something important from grandpa--how to do laundry! He is now an expert, and we plan to put him to work here!

Overall a very nice visit!

Vacation!

We have just returned from a great vacation to Southern California. A few months ago, I found out that I would need to attend a conference in San Diego for a few days. Jason got some time off too, so we headed to Southern California for a week.

We spent a lot of quality time with Ethan, and definitely kept him entertained.

Our first stop was Disneyland. He was unbelievably excited to meet Mickey and Minnie in person. He also enjoyed the rides, especially Dumbo and the Rocketships. Mom and dad had a fun time too, utilizing quick "single rider" lines to go on all the rides that Ethan was too small for. We also got to check out California Adventure, which is the sister park to Disneyland...it was fun too!

Next was the coast, where we spent a night sleeping in a cabin on a pier over the ocean.

Though it sounded like a cool idea, the waves were really loud and somewhat disconcerting at night. The view from the the front porch of the cabin was amazing though!

Then, on to San Diego. I attended my conference while the boys enjoyed some quality time by the pool. We did get the chance to visit the San Diego Zoo, which was pretty neat, especially the panda exhibit.

Another highlight was the beach at Coronado...We were lucky to have great weather the entire time, a perfect break from the San Francisco rain!!!

We certainly didn't get to do it all, but luckily SoCal is not too far away...we have a feeling we'll be there again soon!
