To Tahoe we go!

This week was a short week for us (Jason and I were both off Friday), so we decided to head up to Lake Tahoe for a taste of winter weather.

We stayed with some friends who have a 7 month old baby. Ethan had fun with "baby James".

Saturday was cold and windy, but on Sunday morning we woke up to several inches of fresh snow--perfect for Ethan to play in. He tried out sledding for the first time---do you think it was a hit???
(you can also hear Ethan demonstrate his new skill--counting--in the video if you listen closely!)

We've been sick!

Ugh. This has been a bad week. On Monday morning Ethan woke up with a fever and a cough. Tuesday morning, same thing. Thankfully Grandma and Grandpa Greenberg were willing to come down from Sonoma to watch him. Except, the fever continued...same story Wednesday, Thursday and Friday! Poor Grandma and Grandpa trapsed down to the city every day to take car of him. then they got sick too!

And now it is Saturday and although Ethan's fever is finally gone, Jason and I are now sick. Yuck.

Christmas and New Year's

Well, we have been busy! We had my parents , my brother and his girlfriend out for Christmas. My parents stayed for the week. They enjoyed the winter warm-up, and we enjoyed the company.

Ethan really got into opening gifts this year...

One of his favorites was a drum set from Uncle Jeff. (We're pretty sure it won't be our downstairs neighbor's favorite, however!)

On Christmas Day, we all had a big dinner with Jason's parents and grandparents.

After the holiday, we enjoyed some sightseeing, and a bit of hiking, and we also went up to Jason's parents house in Sonoma.

And then we celebrated New year's eve with a big turkey dinner. None of us made it up till midnight though! I guess we are getting old. But overall, a very nice visit.

Ethan Meets Santa

Well, what a different experience than last year when we waited in a long line in NYC on the day after Thanksgiving! We went downtown this morning at 8:30 am and we were the only people there! Ethan has been reading about Santa, and was pretty excited to get to meet him. He wasn't as shy as I expected, and didn't even cry when he sat on Santa's lap!

Hanukkah Celebrations

Last weekend, we celebrated Hanukkah with Jason's brother and sister-in-law, and his grandparents. We had them all over for a traditional dinner with potato latkes. This gave us the opportunity to use our food processor--we got it for our wedding, but haven't had much opportunity to use it. It worked great, and everyone loved the latkes.

Ethan enjoyed lighting the menorah. He was fascinated (and a bit scared, thankfully) of the candles.

Happy Birthday, Daddy...

Today is someone special's birthday. Unfortunately, I woke up with a fever yesterday, and I am still feeling under the weather today....not to mention the hike we planned for today had to be canceled due to the rain....Oh well. I love you anyway, daddy, and wish you a very happy 33rd b-day. Thanks for taking such good care of me and being such a great dad.
Love, Ethan
