Recently Ethan is really in to music. He especially loves to sing, preferably accompanied by his xylophone or a toy guitar. Favorites include Twinkle twinkle little star, The wheels on the bus, ABCs, Old MacDonald, and my personal favorite, This old man. Enjoy this video....he could be the next American Idol!

Out of the fog?
Well, we have just completed out 4th move in three years. Ugh. Not fun. It took this long to get the computer up and running again.
We decided to leave the city when our apartment lease was up--our landlord wanted a 1 year renewal, but since we are actively house-hunting, we decided we couldn't sign up for that. so we found a month-to-month rental up in Marin, where we are looking to buy a house. This way we can get used to the community and see if it (and the newe commute) is for us.
Our place is really small (about half the size of the last one!), so that has been an adjustment. We have a nice balcony with a view, and access to a BBQ though, so more outside "space" than we had in the city.
And the apartment complex has a pool, much to Ethan's delight.
Unfortunately, since we've moved the weather has been cold! It seems like the fog just followed us up here....we hope not.
Heres a few pics of the new place.

We'll see how the adjustment goes.

Family reunion on the Russian River
Over the weekend we had a great family get together at Jason's Aunt Marcy's house on the Russian River. The weather was great and we got to enjoy some sunshine (as opposed to the perpetual fog we have been dealing with in San Francisco). Best yet, Jason's brother Brandon flew in for the weekend--we hadnt seen him for about 9 months!
Ethan loved looking at the water and sitting in the boats. He didnt get to go out in any (no toddler sized life jackets), but we let him sit in them at the dock where the water was only about 12 inches deep.
Enjoy these great pics of Jason's family!

Potty Time
Well, it's begun...potty training....

This was the first weekend we tried it for real, with mixed results. On Saturday, Ethan was able to have an accident free day. Amazing. We even ventured out of the house to the park and out to dinner (where he peed in the restaurant potty). We were quite impressed.
But, I guess with this like everything else, there are ups and downs--we have already gone through 3 pairs of underwear and pants today. And it is only noon.
But he is pretty proud of his new undies. I guess we will give it a try at day care on monday and see how things go.....

San Francisco Summer is Here
and for those of you not from here...that means FOG. and lots of it. Each night we fall asleep to the drone of the fog horns at the golden gate bridge. Each morning we wake up to them. And it also means that it is COLD. Like jeans and fleece cold. Here's a shot from the farmer's market this AM--yes, it is July 9, but no shorts or t's here....Brrrr.
At least we can take a 30 min drive east, south, or north, and escape the fog and get into some summertime weather.
Speaking of which, we will be moving again soon. Our lease here in the city is up in August, and since we are looking for a place of our own to buy, we dont want to renew for another year. So, we are moving north to Marin (this is where we hope to buy, eventually). We found an apartment there that we can rent month to month while we continue our house hunt. It is quite different weather up there--the complex even has an outdoor pool! So we will get to enjoy some summer in a month or so...

Happy 4th of July!
Whew, it's been a while. We've been busy! We had a fun 4th of July weekend. We didn't travel, (although we thought a lot about our trip last year on the $th to Acadia, Maine); just visited grandma and grandpa Greenberg, went to the Marin county fair, and watched a local parade. Won't make it to fieworks this year, Jason is working tonight, and I have to work early tomorrow.

Last weekend...
we headed out to Brentwood, CA to do some cherry picking. Our friends Sue, Ben and Cruz met us there. The boys had a blast, although we had to be careful that they didnt eat any cherries before we took out the pits. As evidenced by Ethan's face, he got a lot of snacking in while we picked.
Also picked some olallieberries and loganberries, which Ethan also could not get enough of.
Somehow, he still had room for a picnic lunch, which we enjoyed before heading back to the city.
Sunday we celebrated my birthday. I am now the proud owner of an i phone, bye bye old flip phone....Its about time I joined the rest of the world. Ethan "helped" me unwrap it when I wasnt even in the room...I went in to check on the strange ripping sounds coming out of the dining room, and there was my new phone! Oh well. It was a nice birthday.
