Today marks my parent's 40th wedding anniversary. I am so amazed by the example that they have set for us over the years. As a parent of two young children now, I sure do appreciate all they did to hold our family together--while both working full times jobs.
An of course, I am humbled by my dad'd dedication to the care of my mom for the past 14 years. A real example of true love.
I sure do wish that mom could appreciate the meaning of this day and celebrate with him. For sure, her illness makes this day bittersweet. But I am happy to be able to recognize all they have been and, what more recently all my dad has done. Happy 40th, Mom and Dad!
