We've just come home from Chicago. Alaina got to meet the Ferschls--and ride in her first airplane! Ethan was very excited to "show" her what an airplane was like, and introduce her to grandma and grandpa.
We enjoyed visiting family in Chicago. Grandma and Grandpa were thrilled to meet their first granddaughter--and great-grandma her first great-granddaughter!
We even had a big family gathering with 20 people at my parents house, with aunts, uncles and cousins. So great to see everyone and catch up (as much as I could with a sometimes screaming baby and energetic 4-year-old!)
The trip actually went about as smoothly as one could hope travelling with two kids. Unfortunately, Chicago was freezing when we were there, so we did not get a lot of outside-of-the house time. But Ethan did get to ride the "express train" downtown again with grandpa. He's hoping that next time we go back it will be warm enough to go to the zoo. Don't worry, we'll be back!

So glad you were able to head home to the Windy City. Undoubtly, they were thrilled to meet baby Alaina! The four generation photo is pretty special!
