This is long overdue post about the new sibling relationship we have...Ethan and Alaina. I am very happy to say that Ethan seems to truly love and enjoy his little sister. When he gets home from school each day, the first thing he does is come running and asks "Where's the baby?". He knows he has to put on "lotion" aka hand sanitizer before he can touch her, so he always next asks for that so he can give her a hello squeeze.
He usually calls her "Laina Baby", which is really cute too. Seeing her always makes him smile and giggle. I think it helped that three other kids in his preschool had little sisters within a month of Alaina, so it seems like being a big sibling is the thing to do. He has 2 big brother t-shirts, and if they were clean, he would wear them everyday.
He wants to watch everything, and help where he can--diaper changes, getting dressed, baths. And although the first month he was more needy, he never once said anything but the most positive things about Alaina. So, I am enjoying this great sibling relationship while it lasts!!
